How Did Non-RO Water Filters Perform in a Duke/NC State Study?
Duke University and NC State University tested a variety of water filters against PFAS (including GenX). Reverse Osmosis and a few other systems (including Hydroviv) performed very well, whereas systems from major brands failed.
Yale Study Finds Exposure to PFAS Increases Risk of Miscarriage
A Yale Study determined that pregnant women exposed to PFAS had an 80-120% increased risk of miscarriage. The researchers also determined that ingestion of PFAS-contaminated drinking water is one of the primary routes of exposure.
Incineration Doesn't Actually Breakdown PFAS Compounds
PFAS were detected downstream of an incineration facility in Cohoes, New York. Even after incineration, PFAS were detected in surrounding groundwater.
